As a Research Associate in the CooksLab I have the privilege of participating and helping out in almost all of the studies conducted in our lab.

Some days are dedicated to exploring the efficiency, abilities and limitations of the new and exciting alpha DaRT seeds therapy aimed against cancer tumors.

On other days, I spend my time isolating extracellular vesicles from cancer cells, characterizing them and their cargo using different methods, and unravel their importance in cancer progression.

To be more specific, since my Ph.D. thesis was in the field of Neuroscience, it remains my greatest passion. For example, patients suffering from brain cancer in general, and glioblastoma multiforme particularly, have terrible prognosis and limited treatment possibilities. Our recent findings from glioblastoma studies combining DaRT therapy with anti-angiogenic factors may bring hope to those patients.
